Hi, this is Bo, an auto expert on RepairPal's Car Genius team! That single "clunk" when you take off or brake in your 2011 Kia Forte Koup is likely a sign of something shifting in the suspension or drivetrain. Common culprits include worn engine mounts, control arm bushings, or sway bar links. When you accelerate or brake, these parts can shift and cause clunk if they’re worn or loose. Since it doesn’t happen while driving, it's probably happening right as the weight shifts in the vehicle. A quick inspection underneath should help spot anything that’s loose or worn out.
