What is your question?
Hello. My renegade recently got a new motor due to a failed oil consumption test. When I dropped it off at the dealership, the air conditioner worked great. When I picked it up, it was blowing hot air. They looked at it and said the compressor has failed. Can I recharge it and it will work or will I have to replace the entire compressor?
What makes this problem better or worse?
When the air is on

Hi, my name is Devin. I am an auto repair expert with the Car Genius team here at RepairPal. So sorry to hear you're having trouble with your vehicle. If your Renegade's air conditioner was working fine before the engine replacement but is now blowing hot air, it's concerning that the dealership immediately pointed to a failed compressor. While it's possible the compressor failed coincidentally, it could also be related to something that happened during the engine replacement. Recharging the system might help if it's just a refrigerant issue, but a recharge won't fix the problem if the compressor is indeed faulty. You'll likely need to replace the compressor to restore proper function. Before proceeding, consider getting a second opinion to ensure the compressor is the actual cause.
