Hi, I'm one of the auto experts on RepairPal's Car Genius team! On your 2017 Jeep Renegade a hard thumping and tire noise specifically during acceleration and deceleration is a pretty telling symptom. A worn or failing CV axle is one of the most common causes of this type of noise, as the CV joints can develop play and produce a noticeable thump or clunk when load is applied and released. A failing wheel bearing is another strong possibility, as they can produce both a thumping and a roaring noise that changes with vehicle speed and load. It could also be a worn motor mounts or even something with your tires or brakes. Since some of these causes involve components that are important for safe vehicle control we'd recommend having a qualified shop put it on a lift and do a proper inspection sooner rather than later.
