What will happen if you put 20cents of diesel in a regular gasoline car by mistake and then filled it with regular gas.

Hi, this is Bo, an auto expert on RepairPal's Car Genius team! Good news, twenty cents worth of diesel in a gas tank is such a tiny amount that once diluted with a full tank of regular gasoline it's essentially a non issue. I filled a tank with diesel once. My head was off in the clouds. That was an expensive daydream. We're talking a few ounces at most swimming in several gallons of gasoline. You'd need a much more significant amount of diesel to cause real problems like hard starting, misfires, or injector damage. Fill it up, drive it normally, and don't lose another minute of sleep over it. Consider it a cheap lesson and you got off easy compared to people who pump several gallons before noticing!
