Hi, this is Bo, an auto expert on RepairPal's Car Genius team! If your 2009 Jeep Grand Cherokee is blowing hot air on the passenger side while the driver side is chilly, it sounds like you’re dealing with a classic case of a blend door issue in the HVAC system. The blend doors control the mix of hot and cold air that comes into the cabin, and if the door for the passenger side is stuck or malfunctioning, it could be letting hot air in while the driver’s side works correctly. Another possibility is that there could be a problem with the climate control settings or a failing actuator that controls the blend door on that side. It's also worth checking the refrigerant level; if it's low, it can affect cooling efficiency. To get to the bottom of it, I’d recommend having a professional run a diagnostic on the HVAC system. They can pinpoint whether it’s a blend door issue, an actuator failure, or something else entirely.
