Dash lights flashing when you open the drver door

What is your question?

Wife came home from work and when she turned off the motor the dash lights started flashing. When she closed the door it stopped. Just wondering what's going on. No loss of power and headlights worked fine

What makes this problem better or worse?

Closed door when getting out and it stopped
