Will idle high and low

What is your question?

When starting it will idle up and down or when sitting in one place for a little bit it will idle high and low continually but doesn't do it when driving Looked online and it mentioned a IAC but I don't know what that is. No warning lights come on.

I would replace the Throttle Positioning Sensor (TPS) this is what communicates with the computer to adjust the Idle - if the idle is going up & down ti means the sensor is "searching" for correct RPM's - but can't find it due to wear ....
