When my car is idling the oil gage is in the middle of the gage range. When I accelerate it goes near or to the highest point.

The first thing to do is to test your oil pressure with a mechanical oil gauge kit. Then you will really know if your oil pressure is within spec or if it is too high. I have replaced a lot of Oil Pressure Senders on Jeeps, but it is best to really check the system. If the oil pressure tests out too high with a mechanical gauge, then the pressure relief valve in the oil pump is sticking which mean that you need a new oil pump. Good Luck!
