engine swap from different year

Do not perform this swap. Too many changes in engine management. It's never advisable to swap engines from a different year vehicle.

an AMC 242 is a 4.0L jeep!!! But it depends on your level of mechanical skill. I 'm a virgin jeep owner and from what I have read there are NO bolt-on differences from 1998 to 2002, with the exception you are going from a Distributor to Distributorless ignition , and use all your parts from the 2002, intake/exhaust manifolds ...etc... you may have to use the head off your 2002 for the coil pack mounts, <<< read up on that!
