Engine noise?

What is your question?

I can only drive my Jeep at low speeds now..Im hearing a loud tapping sound from the right side of the engine when i hit the gas? What could that be? Lifters? It has an over head cam on both sides..can it be fixed by just accessing the cam on that side? is it a labour intensive job? Im afraid to drive it now as I'm afraid it could get worse!

What makes this problem better or worse?

hitting the gas makes the noise louder..

How long has your 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee had this problem?
