repair window, off track

What is your question?

Motor to window does not need repair. You can hear the motor going, appears that window has dropped off track. Don't see an estimate for that type of repair

If you are the adventurous type you can repair the old regulator. What happens is a piece of plastic breaks off that holds the cable on. The first step is of course to remove the door panel and remove the window from the regulator and unplug and unbolt the regulator. The repair involves some Mc Guyvering. If you can remove the motor and remove the cable spool from the motor you will have started the repair. Slide the white plastic piece on the track to a place where you can see it through the hole in the track. You will see where the cable was attached. If you can enlarge the hole a little you can put about a screw with about a 1/4 inch flat head on it through the hole and screw it into the hole in the plastic where the cable was secured. Use one about an inch long, it will go through the plastic and stick out but that is ok, it will not hit anything. Secure the end of the cable in the indention where the screw is in the plastic and tighten the screw. Now that the broken part is repaired you have to roll the cable back on the spool (not an easy task) and reinstall the spool back in the motor. The last step is to get it back on the pulley at the end of the slider which is accomplished by prying over the pulley with a thin blade screw driver. It should work if you followed the directions. Simply reinstall the regulator and bolt that and the motor back in place. Put the window back in and snap it into the clips. Hook up the door panel and see if it works. I have one of these jeeps and have fixed both front windows. I replaced the regulator the first time and it broke again and thats when I decided to fix it myself. Since then in five years, never a problem with either one since I fixed them. Good luck.

The door panel must be removed to inspect what needs to be replaced or reattached to make your electric window function properly again. If it is the window regulator that needs to be replaced the labor guide estimates about 1.2 hours to replace the window regulator and the part costs approx. $ 125 to 150.

could be the regulator, it drive the window up and down. It seems to be OE equipment only from Kia. It is 4 bolt and take about a half hour. parts could be about 50.00 to about 300.00 if motor is need to.
