heater problems

This is a problem with the heater airflow system. There are little electric motors (actuators) that control the temperature and airflow to the vents, the system that controls these actuators, or an actuator itself is having problems.

If you have the nice ac system with dual automatic controls the issue is with an electric vent motor that get this lives on the back side of the heater/ac housing. The only way to replace that jewel is to remove the dash and remove the heater AC housing. Sorry for the bad news. Just a tip, I have the same car and system. Never turn the controls to the max position, heat or cold, select a temp and let it ride. That max position is what breaks the motors. I work in a Jeep dealer as a mechanic and yes this is the deal.
