Can I put a motor from a 1998 jeep grand cherokee in a 2000 jeep grand cherokee. Also would the transmission and 4 wheel drive work in the 2000?

You can do a motor swap on just about anything with wheels. I assume you're looking for a direct fit, alignment, and wiring. The anser is no. I believe in 1998 the V8 used was the 5.9 In the 2000 the Granf Cherokee uses the 4.7... different motor. If you're rock'n the 4.0 then you have a much better chance of not beating your head against a wall
I'm not exactly sure. It's a friends. It was his sisters and she rolled it. He said he thinks its a V8. I really know nothing about vehicles other than how to drive them. I'm thinking about buying the 2000 and it has 150,000 miles on it and my friend said I could buy the 98 $500. With so many miles on the 2000 I'm worried about major stuff breaking down. I'm trying to find out what kind of motor the 98 has for sure. I am concerned about the computer in the 2000. Like I said I don't know anything but I'm worried the computer wouldn't work with the 98 motor. It's one of three: 4.0L I6, 5.2L V8, or 5.9L V8.
It will not.
