What is your question?
I've been experiencing engine shudder and have also experienced a reduction in power going uphill accompanied by a flashing check engine light. The check engine light has for the most part remained on, though it did go out for a brief time. The problem started about a week ago. I have codes p208 (#8 cylinder injector malfunction) and p308 (#8 cylinder injector misfire) and understand that I'll likely need to have the injector replaced. It's probably too late, but I've added fuel additive to a full tank of gas which claims to clean the injectors and remove water, among other benefits. I'm visiting relatives for the holidays and plan to use the Jeep to give it a good run with the additive (Ever-Wear Triple T). How much risk is there in running it until I can afford the repair?

i would reccomend a injector service that puts cleaner directly into the injectors, all of them. the additive does not have as much effect when diluted with fuel. the service is 79 and may resolve your entire issue. Roy
Running the engine with a misfire could damage it permanently. The injector could be dumping fuel into the cylinder and washing down the oil and the rings could be scratching them to a point were they will not seal again. (Seen it in a Ford) Did you find the injector harness to make sure the injector is connected? You could also try a good injector cleaner service before replacing an injector. If it still doesn;t work then a replacement may be necessary.
Didn't know the option existed. $79.00 is certainly affordable enough and I'm thinking that if the problem were more extreme it'd be more than just one cylinder affected, so cleaning the injectors makes sense. Thanks Roy.
