The biggest thing to be aware of is that when you open the cooling system at any time, you introduce air into it. This air pocket can cause a simulated overheating condition if not purged out properly. Purge the air out of the cooling system and recheck operation before doing anything else. It can be dangerous to do so, so get proper tooling or assistance.
