I have a coolant sensor bad display on my screen. I have replaced the sensor in the overflow bowl and the one on the manifold behind thermostat, but display still shows bad sensor. any ideas? thanks. Patrick

No Bret. the first alert said low coolant level. I changed the sensor in the overflow bowl. then about a month later, the next alert said"coolant sensor bad". I put a new sensor on the manifold, and now the bad sensor alert only comes on when I first start the truck. any other ideas? thanks. Patrick
Must be a common problem mine has given that same message off and on since i got it. The guy I got it from told me he had replaced it. My mechanic said something about not using the right sealant or something when they put it back on might be causing it. Only, just had the water pump replaced and now when the coolant sensor light comes on i leak fluid fromt the back side of the motor. I need to get this checked out. Does not leek if the coolant sensor msg does not come on.
no, the display says "coolant sensor bad". I've changed it twice. one guy said I have to go to dealer to reset the code. not sure about that
have had the same issue here for over 2 years. it does not seem to hurt anything. have replaced sensors also. had the codes reset but it keeps coming back.
My Jeep, too! Replaced the coolant tank float sensor, with no luck... haven't changed the coolant temp sensor yet, BUT... I found the following link/thread about it. I haven't gone through all the suggested process yet, but the guy posting the answer suggests this is all no more than a bad solder joint on the circuit board in the Vehicle Information CEnter (VIC) where the wiring for the coolant tank sensor wiring connects to it. My jeep too but its been sputtering when i crank it sometimes and i put it into drive and press the gas it sputters and when it reaches the right temp it wont crank up like it ran hot. I have to wait like 30 mins for it to cool down before it cranks again....does it sound like a bad coolant sensor?
i also have the same problem. both of my coolent sensors have been replaced, and it still comes on, it just worries me.
The problem Has nothing to do with the coolant sensor, Or for that matter anything to do with the cooling system at all, Check out Jeepforumdotcom & under "coolant sensor Bad fix" You will see that it actually has to do with crummy soldering on the back of the VIC (Vehicle Information Centre), & all that is needed to fix this problem is a bit of solder & some patience, I know this because I have changed my coolant sensor on the engine block and in the reservoir & the thermostat just to be sure & all with brand new original jeep parts not aftermarket rubbish, & all it took was a bit of solder & searching the answer on jeepforum.com

its suppose to eventually replace its self mine has been doing same thing
