Hi, this is Bo, an auto expert on RepairPal's Car Genius team! If your Jeep Grand Cherokee is hard to start and you have to press the gas, plus you're smelling fuel, it sounds like you might be dealing with a fuel delivery or air-fuel mixture issue. A leaky fuel injector, a faulty fuel pressure regulator, or even a bad coolant temperature sensor could cause these symptoms by flooding the engine with fuel. As for the rocking and squealing when braking, that could be related to worn-out brake components like pads or rotors. It might also indicate an issue with the suspension, such as worn bushings or shocks, which can cause instability during braking. Your best bet is having a shop take a look, The worst that can happen is they charge you for a bit of time and give you estimates on the results.
