Transmission fluid change or flush

Getting mixed advice on how to transmission fluid changes. My I-290 has 50K miles and book says to change at that time. Local 10 min.oil change place in town will flush but does not have the Dexron 6 that manual calls for but has mercon and will add additives to make it compatable to dex6? He will hook machine to transmission lines but will not drop pan (could this cause a problem?)Local transmission shop in town says donot do the flush only drop the pan change filter and put new fluid in . Which way should I go?

Drop the pan. A flush is good for changing fluid if you want to do it at shorter intervals. But the 50,000 mile change should be a drop of the pan, as they will replace the filter as well as the fluid.
