I put a fuel cleaner in the gas tank last week. It was driving fine but all of a sudden it lost power and I barely got the car home. I realize the problem could be unrelated to the cleaner, however.

i would have the fuel pressure checked first. also, the cat converter should be checked. if it is clogged, it will cause this condition. get a shop to help you with this and give you a bid. Roy
I have a 2005 XG and the Throttle Positioning Sensor was the problem. I suggest checking the OBD codes first it may have been recorded. There also was techinical service bulletin on the TPS. It took me some time to get this resolved since it was intermittent.
Thanks, Roy. And just for my information, where is the fuel filter located? Ron
Lift up the vehicle. Reduce the internal pressure of the fuel lines and hoses and make the following operations. Disconnect the fuel pump harness connector at the fuel tank rear side. Start the engine and after it stops, turn the ignition switch to OFF. Disconnect the battery negative (-) terminal. Connect the fuel pump harness connector. Remove the two fitting nuts while holding the fuel filter nuts securely. Remove the fuel filter mounting bolts, and then remove the fuel filter from the fuel filter clamp. Tightening torque : Under the vehicle at the left front corner of the fuel tank The fuel filter, if it is clogged would require removing the fuel tank and having it cleaned. not likely this is the issue. at least remove it and check the filter for debris.
