What is your question?
I have a 2012 Hyundai Veracruz, about 69,000 km (43,125 miles). In the winter ONLY it would make a loud rattle when started, but the rattle sound from the very front would only last about 4-6 seconds then go away. If the engine was warm, the rattle would not happen when I started the ignition. The Hyundai service department thought it was nothing, but just this last week a loud rattle started while driving. I thought it was from the very front near the grill, but it's actually from the engine area under the cover. My oil was embarrassingly low, so I've corrected that, but the noise keeps getting worse and it stalled out in park for the first time ever. Rattle/clacking/thunking happens when the accelerator is used, quieter when my foot comes off the gas. Seems to be holding onto higher rpm's instead of switching gears automatically in a smooth way. Any help? My first available appointment isn't for 11 days, and I'll have to drive into the city to get to it.
What makes this problem better or worse?
Worse when the engine is cold, and when I use the gas, now it's staying noisy
How long has your 2012 Hyundai Veracruz had this problem?
Mostly 1 week

My only concern is the engine oil was too low. You could have caused multiple internal engine component issues with this having happened. Beyond that, goodness - I'm sorry, but trying to theorize why a noise is occurring is way too hard in this forum -- because we cannot hear the noise or see or touch the vehicle. You simply need to find a good partner as a technician who can work together with you on this to figure out what is going on. It is definitely concerning that you have a stalling issue and it's getting worse. Seek guidance locally.
