What is your question?
2012 Hyundai Santa Fe engine failed (rod bearing). Repaired per recall. When I picked it up. The TPMS was broke, right turn signal was out. And the car vibrated, and the handling was terrible. They said I needed new "motor mounts". for over $3000. I looked up the part numbers of the motor mounts, and its labeled as "engine mounts" None of these problems existed prior to bringing in my car. Did they damage the mounts when they installed the new engine?
How long has your 2012 Hyundai Santa Fe had this problem?
Since I picked up from dealer 4/15/24

I have to be honest, this is really gray area. You have a 12-year-old vehicle that has its share of wear and tear. When you remove an engine and replace it, it is possible that already weak or worn components could fail fully. Hyundai limits their liability to the program they've offered, for engine replacement. Anything other than that would unfortunately be your responsibility. It would be difficult to argue that the degradation of the motor mounts was related to the engine failure. If the vehicle was only two or three years old, I feel like Hyundai would be more responsible. As the vehicle is aged enough to blame part failure on wear and tear, I'm not sure you could compel Hyundai to pay for the repairs. A difficult situation indeed, but somehow not shocking. Always a good idea to interface with the service manager of the dealership to state your case and see if you can get assistance. Hyundai is notoriously stingy for any goodwill assistance. Good luck!
