What is your question?
My disc brakes are worn but still have about 6mm of brake pad remaining. The rotors look perfect, but I hear lots of professional mechanics say I should replace them. Is this really necessary?

Not always. Sometimes you can use them again if they are in great shape. Replacing them is always recommended though. If you are confident in their condition, replace brake pads only.
We recommend resurfacing your brake rotors as long as they are within the safe parameters. Cheaper than new rotors.
Thank you for the quick response. The rotors do indeed look great and I'm confident they are not warped, chafed or deformed. I could never understand why it was "recommended" to replace perfectly good rotors. Thanks again!
The resurfacing he is mentioning costs about 1/2 as much as new rotors. So, if they look great just slap the pads on. Don't worry about resurfacing.
