Why doesn't my cruise control work?

When I am cruising speed I depress the cruise control button on the steering wheel and the cruise control is inoperative. The indicator light does not come on.

How long has your 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe had this problem?

Over a year, don't drive a lot of freeways.
