Hi, my name is Devin. I am an auto repair expert with the Car Genius team here at RepairPal. I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with your vehicle. A cam sensor replacement for a Santa Fe typically costs between $300 to $500, depending on which engine option the car has and labor rates and part prices in your area. A faulty cam sensor can affect engine timing and performance, often triggering the check engine light. The white smoke on startup could be due to moisture buildup in the exhaust or a potential coolant leak, which should also be investigated, as it may indicate a separate issue. Replacing the cam sensor and addressing the smoke may improve both performance and emissions. If you need more advice, have any other questions about your vehicle, or would like to get connected to a RepairPal Certified shop near you, we have you covered.
