What is your question?
It only recently started doing this. The first few times within a minute to 3 it started right back up. The last though it was about 20 minutes before it started. It seems to crank fine and the lights are on in the dash so it's not the battery or alternator. It's been very well maintenanced only one owner. 228,987 miles though. And no engine lights are on.
What makes this problem better or worse?
After the engine gets hot it doesn't do it. Yet anyways.
How long has your 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe had this problem?
It started last week

Hi! This is Bo with Car Genius at RepairPal! 228,987!?!?! That's awesome! In my research, I came across a very similar situation. The tech found the crankshaft position sensor was intermittently failing. Here's what they said: "Stalling when cold.Ok when warmed up.67000 miles. No Codes. Checked crank position sensor for zero to five volt square wave with lab scope. Waveform would shorten to two to five volts when acting up. Replaced crank position sensor and timing belts also while covers off." You could try having it diagnosed with this in mind before throwing a part at it just in case!
