What is your question?
We put a new transmission in the car. When put in reverse or drive the car idles as if it is in park. When we put it in park or neutral it idles oposite. The car DOES NOT move no matter what its in. We let the car run to make sure the transmission fluid filled the torque convertor and still nothing. Please help. This has been a straight 8 day project.

I suspect there is an issue with the transmission position switch, or wiring to that switch. However, there are any number of things that can have occured during your diagnosis and repair that could cause the issue.
Just unplugged the position swith and then when we put it in gear it didn't do anything. Plugged it back in and put it in gear and it goes in gear but car doesn't move. Any other suggestions?
No further suggestions other than to test those components. Unplugging and plugging it in doesn't verify anything. Proper diagnostic procedures using a diagnostic tool and reference material (try www.hmaservice.com - the no-charge diagnostic information from Hyundai to Hyundai owners...) is what is necessary to diagnose and repair your vehicle. No one in this forum can really speculate a whole lot because we weren't there from diagnosis, to removal of the transmission, to installation, to hook up... We don't know the quality of the replacement unit - is it remanufactured? Is it used? Did someone locally attempt rebuild? We can't verify whether the transmission you installed works, we can't verify if something went wrong during install, we can't verify if there was an electrical issue in the first place prior to transmission replacement. Even if you unplug and plug in your transmission position switch, we don't know if the wiring is compromised or the connector could be faulty. Sounds to me that you say it "goes in gear but car doesn't move" which leads me to feel that you have an internal issue with your replacement transmission. I apologize that we can't really be of more assistance.
