While accelerating to pass a car my 2001 Hyundai Santa Fe became sluggish and lost power. I pulled over and put it in park and turned it off. Then when I tried to restart it up it just turns over. Its not starting up. It

Hello, There are many parts of the engine control system, and some fuel system components that can cause this loss of power and no-start condition. Since the engine ran after losing power, but will not restart, I am most concerned about a potential engine control system issue. The engine control system is the set of electronic components like various sensors and control modules, plus some other vacuum operated or mechanical components that constantly monitor and control engine operation. To narrow down exactly what is happening, you will need to have the vehicle connected to a diagnostic scanner to identify what is preventing it from starting, and hopefully read some freeze-frame information from when the fault occurred.
Casey40510, the information given was inaccurate. The car was pushed it was not running after this incident a belt on the timing shredded and I have done a compression check of front three cylinders, sent you a video in a separate email verifying my efforts, since no ability to attach to this response. Im donating my time on this matter to helping my fellow human being with competent, honest work. So they don't get taken advantage of so thank you for your efforts
Sorry, I don't receive emails from the website. Since the timing belt shredded, a compression check is a great start, but you have to check all cylinders. If there is good compression on all cylinders, move on to correcting the timing and replacing the timing belt. The other thought, if you have already replaced the damaged timing belt, the timing may be incorrect, or a seized water pump may be shredding the belt. What has been done and what does the vehicle do currently? Any trouble codes when you scan? Any physical damage/smells/leaks/noises?
