What is your question?
I have a 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport consuming over 3.5q of oil in 1000 miles. I have a 3rd party warranty who needs a clear point of failure to authorize repair. No leaks detected. Per Hyundai's advice, I have paid for boroscope photos which showed carbon build up. I have paid for a combustion chamber cleaning and new spark plugs. Still consuming way too much oil. What are my next steps to get this thing diagnosed without shelling out another $2k?
What makes this problem better or worse?
It's worse when the oil gets low; when idling, it shudders.
How long has your 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport had this problem?
Over a year.

Hello, the problem with most third party warranties is that they don't generally cover internal engine concerns like stuck piston rings or valve concerns that cause oil consumption. They consider that wear - not failure of components. 3.5 quarts. in 1,000 miles is almost enough to see oil running out the tailpipe - that's a ton! How many miles on your Hyundai? Did you buy it new or used? Sometimes you could have recourse with a Hyundai dealership - have you asked them? You're in a difficult position to be sure; hopefully you have a repair shop working with you helping you navigate?
