What is your question?
My steering wheel controls started to go out almost a year and some ago. It started with the left side audio controls. Now it’s in the display change buttons. I’m worried it’s going to go into the cruise control and cruise control will no longer work. I replaced the fuse yesterday and it worked for a second. Then almost immediately, it stopped.

Hi, my name is Devin. I am an auto repair expert with the Car Genius team here at RepairPal. So sorry to hear you're having trouble with your vehicle. It sounds like you might be dealing with an electrical short in your Santa Fe Sport. A fuse is designed to blow to protect the integrity of the wiring and components in a circuit. If the fuse burns out almost immediately after being replaced, there is a short somewhere in the circuit that that fuse protects. Start by inspecting the wiring around the steering wheel for any visible damage or wear. Sometimes, the clock spring inside the steering wheel can cause these issues if it’s faulty. Replacing it might resolve the problem. However, diagnosing electrical issues can be tricky, so it may be best to have a professional technician take a look. If you need more advice, have any other questions about your vehicle, or would like to get connected to a RepairPal Certified shop near you, we have you covered.
