What is your question?
When I accelerate from being stopped, and I let up on the pedal after reaching a decent speed, the engine makes a scraping, maybe sort of a buzzing sound. What could this be? It only happens sometimes and lasts a second or two.
What makes this problem better or worse?
If I accelerate very slow it doesn’t happen.
How long has your 2017 Honda HR-V had this problem?
A few days

Sounds like a possible resonation of something touching something else. One example would be like a heat shield. A catalytic converter heat shield, for example, could be loose and buzzing at certain engine speeds and vibrations. In any case, a good physical inspection is in order to see what is making the noise. My guess is that it's incidental and not any kind of safety concern.
Hey. I have a similar issue with my HRV. Did you get to know what exactly was the problem? And what did you do. It will be extremely helpful.
