What is your question?
A mechanic already looked at my vehicle and confirmed it is the computer that has gone bad. The dashboard would constantly flicker, whether the ignition was on or off, and then the car alarm started to go off as well. I had to disconnect the battery just to get it to stop. I would like to get an estimate as to the cost of replacing the computer and having it programmed.
What makes this problem better or worse?
Starting the car and the. Turning it off.
How long has your 2017 Honda HR-V had this problem?
A week.

Hi, I work with Honda's and have continually since 2009. I can tell you that I've never, ever seen an HR-V require a new "computer". I'd like to know more about what is going on with your vehicle. To me, it sounds like an electrical or wiring concern, possibly related to moisture intrusion instead of "computer replacement". Please, seek the guidance of a shop near you that can give you another opinion. I'm nearly certain you're on the wrong path here. https://repairpal.com/auto-repair-near-me
