Hey, my name is Dusty, and I'm one of the auto experts with RepairPal's Car Genius team. I'm here to help! The blinking red light in the CD input slot of your 2016 Honda HR-V is the anti-theft indicator for the audio unit. The owner's manual provides more information about the anti-theft system and the blinking light. It provides details on how the system operates and what to expect. In case you don't have a manual, visit here: https://owners.honda.com/vehicles/warranty However, if you notice any irregular behavior with the light or the audio system, it's advisable to have it checked by a professional.
