P3497 - If I get this code reading, can I still drive my car a long distance?

This code often sets due to infrequent oil changes and / or low oil levels causing sludge build up on oil control valves in the valve train. Ensure a regular oil change is performed and is performed at least every 5,000 miles. Ensure oil level remains at the "full" line between oil changes.
