What is your question?
I have a 2011 GMC Yukon XL 1500 SUV and this is probably a really basic question: How do you change the transmission dipstick tube? I appreciate your help.

For your 2011 GMC Yukon XL 1500 SUV, you have to remove one of the top passenger side transmission bolts because it has a hold down for the dipstick tube. Once you do that, you should be able to pull it up through the engine compartment. They fit tight so don't be surprised if it takes some effort to pull it out of the transmission.
Has anybody found any videos or pictures on this work? Or can somebody post a pic of what exactly you need to remove for the extra elbow room? Thing broke on me lastnight just trying to check the fluid...
Google flexible transmission fill tube for you make and model with proper transmission you will have a whole better time, then the rigid one
I found mine broken today. An interesting note is that there WAS a recall notice on these tubes fracturing from vibration. The fix was a foam sleeve to absorb vibration. The recall ended in 2014, two years after it was issued. Hopefully the replacement tube I’m picking up tomorrow is a better quality than the original. The repair looks quick and easy, three bolts, one holding the clamp and two holding the shield on the side of the transmission. But then, nothing ever goes easy for me so I’m anticipating a 10 minute job to take at least 8 hours!😁

You guys that did this in 10 minutes are my HEROS!!😖 I’ve got the edge of the end of the tube sitting on the outer edge of the tube hole of the tranny and NO WAY!! I’m taking a short break to try and think creative. Now, I watched a guy drop the tranny support beam and then lower the tranny to give him space. But I’m not that blessed guy with a hydraulic lift and adjustable tranny lift! I’m the guy working on his garage floor in the freezing cold whose cussin the college educated idiot who paid way more for an engineering degree then he is WORTH! But I’ll get it! For those yet facing this nightmare, pay particular attention to the routing path of that tube! Feeding it up from under certainly was easier ONCE I figured out which way it HAS to go! And don’t loose that green rubber seal that slides onto the tube because the replacement, does NOT come with it! No gentlemen, this is NOT a 10 minute job…UNLESS your that guy! What a pain in the backside that COULD have been avoided if recycled coke cans weren’t used to “fabricate” those tubes!! It is inexcusable that such shoddy workmanship is part of such an expensive product.
pulling it out takes effort yes but getting the new one in is like maneuvering your way into an extremely tight virgin except it doesn't feel near as good. I suggest removing the shield plate (only 2 bolts) off the side of the tranny for a little extra room plus then you can actually see where it plugs into the top of the tranny. Just replaced mine on a 2011 silverado and I'm guessing it's similar if not identical.
How do you replace tranny dipstick tube on 2010 Silverado
Hello folks! Just replaced mine in less than 5 minutes (minus getting the old one out and removing the shield plate). Hint ... Feed the replacement tube in from the bottom. Get the end over the valve cover and then you just need a little elbow power to insert the tube into the top of the transmission. I have a '10 GMC Sierra. had the frame on a jack stand for extra beer gut clearance. Plenty of room underneath to feed from the bottom. Easiest repair I've made in a while.
So I just attempted to do this today. I was able to get everything out. Problem is I can’t get it to go back in. Any suggestions or instructions would be greatly appreciated.
