The vehicle will start but will not accelerate car will move but only about walking speed one mile per hour

This happens periodically not all the time sometimes you feel the car jerk just a little like a misfire or something sometimes you can shut the car off and you can start it right back up and it will accelerate most of the time it has to sit for quite some time
What makes this problem better or worse?
have noticed that when it will not accelerate I have added injector cleaner to the fuel and it seems to run fine after that

Do you hear the engine "revving" when you depress the accelerator pedal? If there is no pedal response, it could be related to an electronic throttle body concern. If the engine revs but you don't move anywhere, it could be automatic transmission related.
