(first try) My mech replaced the crankcase sensor. Didn't fix the problem. 2nd try he replaced the ignition switch. That didn't work. Tested the fuel pressure after it stalled and it was still warm - while trying to start it (40 psi) but would not start. When it cooled down we were able to start it and the fuel pressure is at 80psi. No diagnostic codes on his computer from these events

I had a similar problem with my 2002 XL Denali. It would shut down for no apparent reason. Then it would restart and run okay after about 10 minutes. After a few episodes over a year, I finally took it to the dealer. It was the fuel pump inside the gas tank. It was overheating and it would shut off automatically. After it cooled down, it would work okay. Cost me $900.00 to fix (after I was stranded on the Interstate during a vacation trip.)
Just replaced the fuel pump in my 07 last week. Had the same problem this morning with a full tank of gas. Also noticed my gauges don't work properly when it is going to have this issue. After 3 hours sitting it started and ran like a champ. I have only had this issue while pulling my snowmobiles or a trailer.
Did you ever solve this issue? My 07 did the same thing.I put a new fuel pump in it and the next day it quit again. After about 2 hours it started back.
Can you tell me if you ever resolved this issue? My 2007 Denali is doing the same thing. My issue is I just had the fuel pump replaced. I didn't have the issue before that. Thank you!
Hello have u solved this by chance?? Because mine does this only in the summer time when it’s hot and mine as well did not start happening until after I changed the fuel pump. I have an 08 Yukon xl denali
Thanks, it's looking like a new fuel pump is in my future.
The mechanic said having a full tank of gas kept the pump from heating up. That's the reason it didn't shut down all the time. When the gas tank had less than a quarter tank full of fuel, the pump would begin overheating. Good luck with your pump. They have to remove the entire gas tank to put in a new pump. And, there's no guarantee that it's the actual problem. But I guess they should be able to check it.
