i change to synthetic oil. but friends from work say that synthetic oil is no better than regular oil. shuld i go back to regular oil?

Synthetic oil is significantly better that conventional motor oil. You will need to decide if the added cost justifies the use in your 2004 GMC Yukon XL Denali. In some cases oil change intervals can be extended which can help offset the cost of the synthetic oil. Please follow the recommendations of the oil manufacturer. Most all high performance engines in all newer cars require the use of full synthetic oil.
