Me engine starts and runs fine, there are no faults on my reader. When the car is placed in drive, the engine will sputter and fail. Any ideas?

Sounds like excessive air getting into the engine or not enough fuel. If there's an air leak, a technician will introduce hydrocarbons to see if the idle smooths out. Has a fuel pressure test been performed at the fuel rail?
