How do I reattach the mirror to the stud? How do you open up the mirror to get access?

Provided the mirror retainer and stud are not broken, place the mirror under warm water to soften the plastic, then press the mirror onto the ball stud using the palm of your hand. It can take quite a bit of pressure but it works. Also be sure the pivots are pressed in as well.
