I know TPMS will alert on low pressure, but if I purchase a set of heavier tires (lots of offroad work and hauling fuel) will it alert to "abnormally high" pressure? Factory tires allow for 41psi max and the tires I'm looking at can allow for 80psi. 2021 gmc 1500 (elevation)

Hello, the tire grade used should not alter TPMS function. So, seems like it should work just fine. Keep in mind that just because the tire allows up to 80 PSI doesn't mean you should inflate it as such. You may have to have some kind of specific recalibration performed - check with your local dealership to see if that's even possible. It could be that you can't reasonably do this swap without unresolvable complications.
