Hello, Dave here, contributing to RepairPal and providing expert advice since 2010. The biggest challenge is what conditions were the tests of voltage taken under? Battery voltage is not what you are reading if the engine is running - it is charging system output in voltage. And if you are reading this, you also need to know the engine speed at which the readings are taken. At 2,000 RPM of engine speed, I would expect the voltage to be near 14. At idle, I'd expect it to be less - perhaps closer to 13. This is not abnormal. Putting a load on the system - such as turning the lights or blower on - is a good way to see how the charging system reacts to a load. If the voltage went up, I would suspect perhaps your engine speed did as well. And it's good that it did not dip very much. What problems are you currently experiencing?
