loud noise from rear of truck, maybe gear box?

Check the rear u-joints and center support on the rear driveshaft as when they are worn they begin to clunk

You might check the rear U-joint by jacking up one rear wheel then grab the tire and jerk it back and forth while in park to see if you can see and hear any play in the joint.
