Why doesn't my speedometer work on my 2000 GMC 1500?

My speedometer stopped working so I bought a speedometer cluster from my local GMC dealership and installed it myself. All gauges work except for my speedometer? I then changed my speed sensor and ran the truck down the street and the speedometer still doesn't work? What else could be the problem?

Nothing makes it worse or better, just doesn't work.

What speed sensor did you change?
I get that testing hasn't been performed, but ultimately it will take that to resolve your concern. A diagnostic tool can measure vehicle speed sensor (VSS) signal to see what it is reading, and determine if there's a problem there, a problem from the PCM to the instrument cluster, and so forth. Also, a wiring diagram can help circuit testing to see if a wire harness presents a problem.
