My 2000 GMC Seirra will not shift from 2nd to 3rd gear. Why?

Hello, The 4L80e transmission is well proven, but they do have issues with solenoids from time to time. Have it diagnosed with a digital scan tool, or just run it by a reputable transmission specialist, they will have seen this issue on this transmission many many times.
