You can get a battery shut off switch, so if you need to let your Suburban sit for a few days or even a week, the battery won't go dead. It is hard to keep a battery in good shape if you don't drive the vehicle at least 5 days a week for 1-2 hours. There a small normal drains that will take out your battery.

Our suburbaqn did the same thing but on top of it we had to unplug the battery every night. But on top of it our stereo went out and we fiugured out it was a short. Once we located it the battery did fine.
