Hello, The first thing to check is the security light. If it is solid, you likely have a security issue, and that is often the "raised resistor" on the key. Fuses and relays are likely a large part of the issue, and older GM products are pretty simplistic when it comes to engine management systems, so there is not a lot to dig through. You will need to check the fuel pressure at the engine, test to find if you are getting ignition, and scan for trouble codes. Diagnosing the trouble codes often resolves the issue. If there are no trouble codes stored, you may want to test the operation of the throttle position sensor as you move the throttle through its normal range of motion. This should be done key on engine off.
