What is your question?
my suburban has trouble starting, but once it starts it runs and drives fine. the starter and fly wheel have been changed. however when trying to start it and its turning over it sounds as if the flywheel is kicking back against the starter and there is a bad metal on metal grinding sound and a bit of a backfire when the engine is turning over or cranking. some days it will start and some days it wont start at all. any ideas what the problem is

sound like starter is to far away form flywheel does it have shims under starter take them out if there is you can have bad stater or bendix or bushing in end of starter
just ot add, if the flywheel is aftermarket, sometimes it does not work as it should. I have been burned in the past with these and had to go to dealer for a top quality part. Roy
