What would be a good tire for our Burb (P245/75R16 109S)? Don't do much off-roading but live in CT with snow. Thanks!

BFGoodrich makes a Long Trail T/A tire that gives you some good tread but is basically a good road tire. Michelin Latitude Tour tire is possibly the best tire you can buy in this size. Michelin consistently produces high quality tires, tread compound, tread design, low defect rates in their tires. However, you will always pay a premium. Goodyear Assurance CS Fuel Max is a new tire in that size, and seems to be a good design for your needs. http://repairpal.com/buying-car-tires-when-where-and-how That's a good article on RepairPal about tires...
I've looked at everything, read hundreds of reviews on every brand (ex. Tirerack.com), and read some industry journals and I come back to my Dad's stand-by brand - Michelin. He routinely got 70,000 - 90,000 miles out a set on his cars and Suburbans and lamented every time he tried another brand. I tried other brands to save money and had the same, less than positive, experiences. Also, I've bought used vehicles and had the records so I know when the tires were purchased and how many miles they lasted; BF Goodrich 689, Goodyear (prior to Fortera), and Bridgestone Dueler Revos) and NONE even come close the mileage I've gotten out of Michelin LTX M/Ss. I ran the first set for 90,000 and now have LTX M/S2x on my '99 Suburban and '03 Tahoe. I couldn't be more pleased. All reviews I've read by those that have run the previous model and the new model indicate the new one is truly improved. Another thing I noticed in reading many reviews is that many people say their mileage improved when they switched Michelins. That has been my experience and over the life of the tire, the difference in gas savings pays for the tires. NOTE: LTX M/Ss have, for years, come OEM on Toyota Land Cruisers and Lexus LX470s - that should say something.
