Has your car got lights that are supposed to stay on for a few minutes after you exit the car? Perhaps you do need to charge the battery and do a hydrometer test and high rate discharge test (performance load test) on the battery to ensure it is serviceable. I hope a Ford technician sees this post and offer more incite.
