Hi, my name is Devin. I am an auto repair expert with the Car Genius team here at RepairPal. I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with your vehicle. It sounds like your Freestyle's rough idle, hesitation, and loss of power may be related to the throttle body, which is common in these models. The electronic throttle body can develop carbon buildup or have sensor issues, leading to inconsistent airflow and causing rough idling, hesitation, and stalling. Cleaning or replacing the throttle body often resolves these problems. Another possibility is a vacuum leak, as this can cause similar symptoms by disrupting the air-fuel mixture. Lastly, check for any stored error codes with an OBD-II scanner, as this can pinpoint an issue with sensors like the mass airflow (MAF) sensor or oxygen sensors, which also affect engine performance. If you need more advice, have any other questions about your vehicle, or would like to get connected to a RepairPal Certified shop near you, we have you covered. Give us a call at 877-913-1554, and we will happily help you out!
